Carbon County court — DUI
Six defendants who previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence or related counts, were sentenced Thursday afternoon in Carbon County court.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II imposed sentences on the following:
Stanley Roland Kieffer, 31, of Albrightsville, was sentenced to serve 90 days to 60 months in prison, pay a fine of $1,500 and his license suspended for 18 months.
He was arrested on Oct. 9, 2015, along East Alley in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He will begin the jail term at 6 p.m. on Aug. 10 and serve it on consecutive two-day weekends. He was given credit for five days already served.
Christina Lauren Helen Zeininger, 39, of Scranton, was sentenced to serve 10 days to 24 months in prison, a fine of $500 and one-year license suspension.
She was arrested on Aug. 6, 2016, by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.08 BAC.
She was given credit for six days already served and will begin serving the remaining four days at 6 p.m. on Aug. 6.
Matthew M. Wurst, 29, of Jim Thorpe, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000 and one-year license suspension. On a charge of driving under suspension, he was fined $200.
He arrested on Nov. 13, 2017, along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He is currently serving a prison term in Schuylkill County which runs to Oct. 3. Nanovic ruled his sentence is consecutive to Schuylkill meaning when Wurst is done in that county he will be transferred to Carbon to serve the DUI term.
Arlene Alice Farrell, 60, of Kunkletown, was placed on probation for six months for a first offense and ordered to pay a fine of $300.
She was arrested on Sept. 15, 2016, in the parking lot of the Lehighton state police barracks off Route 209 in Towamensing Township. She pleaded to a count involving alcohol with a count involving a controlled substance dropped in a plea bargain.
David Vazquez, 42, of Allentown, was placed on probation for six months as a first offense and ordered to pay a fine of $300.
He arrested on Nov. 24, 2016, by Palmerton police along Delaware Avenue. A test revealed a 0.30 BAC.
Tony Allen Stoeckel, 32, of Lansford, was sentenced to serve 60 days in prison on a charge of driving under suspension and a fine of $500.
On a charge of false reports he was sentenced to serve two to 12 months in prison and a fine of $500, with the term concurrent with the suspension count. He must also render 50 hours of community service when paroled.
He was arrested on June 30, 2017, by Lehighton police along First Street following a vehicle stop. He gave a false name to officers because he was driving under suspension.
He will begin the jail term at 6 p.m. on Aug. 6. He was granted work-release privileges.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
