Carbon County court — DUI
Four defendants who previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence and related charges were sentenced on Friday in the county court.
Ryan Sean Cebrosky, 26, of Palmerton, was sentenced for DUI and a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, in two separate incidents.
He was arrested on the DUI charge on Aug. 31, 2017, in the 600 block of Mauch Chunk Road by Palmerton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He arrested on the possession of drug paraphernalia on Oct. 27, 2017, at Second and Iron streets filed by Lehighton police.
On the DUI count Judge Steven R. Serfass sentenced him to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use and render 25 hours of community service. He was given credit for 73 days spent in prison to date on the charge and paroled.
On the drug count he was placed on probation for a year, consecutive to the DUI charge, and ordered to render an addition 50 hours of community service.
Cebrosky is currently an inmate in the county prison on other pending charges.
John Gartner, 32, of Jim Thorpe, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.
He arrested on Sept. 23, 2017, along Second Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance. He began the jail term immediately.
Tabitha R. Amey, 43, of Lehighton, was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service. It was a first offense.
She arrested on Jan. 9, 2016, by Palmerton police along Delaware Avenue. A test revealed a 0.17 BAC.
Justin Lee Moss, 28, of Germansville, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.
He was arrested on May 10, 2016, by state police at Lehighton and charged with DUI of a controlled substance.
He will begin the jail term at 2 p.m. on Sept. 7.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
Judge Nanovic
One defendant in driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court on Thursday before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.
Danielle R. Blair, 45, of Palmerton, was arrested on May 12 by Palmerton police along Mauch Chunk Road. A test revealed a 0.17 BAC.
A first offense, she was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300, court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation.
