Carbon County court — DUI
Sentences were imposed in Carbon County court on Thursday afternoon on two defendants who previously pleaded guilty to driving under the influence charges.
President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II imposed sentences on:
Dennis A. Ringer, 43, of Weissport, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000 and one-year license suspension.
He was arrested on Sept. 9, 2018, by Palmerton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He will begin the serving the prison term at 7 p.m. on April 11.
Thomas J. Willis, 35, of Summit Hill, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000 and a one-year license suspension.
He arrested on Aug. 25, 2018, by Lansford police in the area of Patterson and Center streets. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He will begin serving the prison term at 3 p.m. on April 5.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
