Carbon County court — DUI
A total of six defendants, who previously entered guilty pleas to driving under the influence and related charges, were sentenced on Friday in Carbon County court by Judge Steven R. Serfass.
Dominic Chickilly, 28, of Summit Hill, was sentenced to serve 90 days to 60 months in prison, pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, supply a DNA sample, make restitution of $376 to Lansford police and render 100 hours of community service.
He was arrested on Aug. 24, 2018, by Lansford police along Bertsch Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He was given credit for 25 days already served.
Chickilly is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges and has a pending probation violation.
Robin Scott Rhyder, 56, of Lehighton, was sentenced to serve 90 days to 60 months in prison, pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months and render 100 hours of community service. He was given credit for 87 days already served.
He was arrested on June 23, 2019, by Lehighton police along First Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He is currently an inmate in the county prison but is facing a state parole violation.
Kristine M. Barrett, 37, of Lehighton, was sentenced to serve 90 days to 60 months in prison, pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months and supply a DNA sample. On a charge of possession of a controlled substance she was placed on probation for a year, concurrent with the DUI charge.
She will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on Feb. 14 and serve it on consecutive two-day weekends.
Melissa Cesanek, 35, of Palmerton, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, one year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service. The sentence runs concurrent with a jail term she is now serving which runs to Feb. 5.
The DUI occurred on Jan. 4, 2018, along Second Street filed by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
Suzanne Marie Allen, 32, of Hazleton, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.
She was arrested on Oct. 2, 2018, by Lansford police along Patterson Street. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
She will begin the jail term at 11 a.m. on Feb. 21.
Gary Irvin Davis, 38, of Lehighton, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, one year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service. On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, he was placed on probation for one year, consecutive tot the DUI charge, and render an addition 50 hours of community service.
He was arrested on Aug. 30, 2019, by Lehighton police along Route 443. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.
He began the jail term on Saturday at 9 a.m.
Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation and follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
