Carbon County court — guilty pleas
A Carbon County man admitted he stole a gun that was later found during a domestic incident.
He was one of six defendants in pending criminal cases to enter a guilty plea before Carbon Judge Steven R. Serfass on Tuesday.
Jim Thorpe incident
Eric Michael Mann, 28, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property, rated a felony two.
He was charged with taking a Buffalo Scout revolver from a Center Street home on Aug. 30.
A time later, police responded to a domestic incident at Mann’s residence, and during a search the revolver was found. A check revealed it had been stolen.
Mann is currently serving a three-year federal prison term that was imposed in July. The jail term will be followed by three years of supervision.
Serfass sentenced him to serve 12 to 24 months in a state correctional institution and ordered him to supply a DNA sample, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use and make restitution of $30. The term runs concurrent with the federal term.
Other pleas
Travis William Kuntzman, 37, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of accidents involving damages to a vehicle or property.
He was arrested on Aug. 4 by Franklin Township police following an accident along Maple Avenue. Kuntzman fled the scene of the crash.
Serfass placed him on probation for a year and ordered him to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and render 50 hours of community service.
Tyler James Easterly, 26, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of theft.
He was arrested on Aug. 21 by Palmerton police for stealing a two-wheel scooter along Lehigh Avenue.
Serfass placed him on probation for a year and ordered him to render 50 hours of community service.
Gregory Doty Fuller, 54, of Whitehall, pleaded to one count each of theft and driving while under suspension-DUI related.
He was arrested on June 6 by state police at Lehighton for stealing a trailer from a property in Penn Forest Township. The trailer owner arrived just as Fuller was leaving with the trailer attached to a truck. He followed Fuller to Mauch Chunk Lake in Jim Thorpe. The victim then called state police, who arrived and took Fuller into custody. At the time he was driving the truck he was under suspension.
Serfass deferred sentencing. Fuller is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges.
Tori Beth Fisher, 33, of Weissport, pleaded to one count of criminal conspiracy — retail theft.
She was arrested for her part in the theft of several items from the Jim Thorpe Market on Dec. 24, 2015, including 10 lobster tails. There are three co-defendants in the case.
Serfass sentenced her to serve four to one day less 24 months in prison, make restitution of $69.95, which is her share, render 100 hours of community service when paroled, and do not go into the store. She will be given credit for time spent in jail on the charge, which will be determined by the adult probation office.
Fisher is currently an inmate in the Monroe County prison on other charges.
Joshua Michael Joyce, 39, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of disorderly conduct, as a summary offense.
He was arrested on Sept. 28, 2016, by Lehighton police in the 100 block of South First Street following a traffic stop. He was one of at least four passengers in the vehicle in which methamphetamine was found. A charge of possession of a controlled substance was dropped in a plea bargain.
Serfass imposed a fine of $300.
Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
