Carbon County Court — Guilty pleas

Nineteen defendants in pending cases entered guilty pleas before President Judge Steven R. Serfass in Carbon County court on Monday.

Walter Earl Allen II, 38, of Palmerton, pleaded guilty in two driving under the influence of a controlled substance in two separate cases.

He was arrested Nov. 26, 2016, by Lehighton Borough Police.

He was arrested again Feb. 20, 2017.

Sentencing was deferred pending a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Adelaidia Lillian Cruz, 33, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of providing false identification to law enforcement in connection with a July 1, 2016, traffic stop.

She was sentenced to one year of probation, 50 hours community service, and to follow the recommendations of a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Nicholas Anthony Dietrich, 35, of Tamaqua, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested Aug. 19, 2016, by state police at Lehighton.

Sentencing was deferred to determine if he is eligible for house arrest/electronic monitoring.

Joseph Anthony Fazio, 43, of Dunmore, pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct for an incident. He was charged by state police at Fern Ridge for an incident that occurred on Oct. 23, 2016, in Penn Forest Township.

He was ordered to pay a $300 fine and $200 restitution.

Randy Green, 36, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and making unsworn falsifications to authorities. He was sentenced to 24 months probation, and 100 hours community service.

Patrick John Michael McLaughlin, 50, of Nesquehoning, pleaded guilty to driving under suspension and driving under the influence for an incident which occurred June 12, 2016, in Jim Thorpe.

He also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance for an incident which occurred Dec. 10, 2016.

Sentencing was deferred pending a court reporting network evaluation and comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Irving J. Morales, 24, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested Sept. 19 by Lehighton Borough Police.

He was placed on probation for 12 months, ordered to follow the results of a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation, and assessed a $900 fine.

Dirk Anthony Pompa, 29, no address, pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia for an Oct. 27, 2016, incident. He was charged by Jim Thorpe Borough Police.

He was given 76 days to 12 months imprisonment, with credit for time served, 24 months probation, 50 hours community service, ordered to follow the results of a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation and a pre-parole plan.

Gary Francis Recker, 50, of Palmerton, pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and cruelty to animals for an incident which occurred Oct. 5. He was arrested by Palmerton Borough Police.

He was sentenced to two terms of 30 days to one year to be served consecutively, a total of 100 hours community service, a comprehensive mental health evaluation, and continued drug and alcohol treatment.

Tamatha Elizabeth Storm, 31, of Coaldale, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of children for an incident that occurred April 17, 2016. She was arrested by state police at Lehighton.

She was sentenced to six months to one year imprisonment, given credit for 80 days time served, two years probation, 200 hours community service, and ordered to follow the results of a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Veronica Lynn Vogel, 20, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking for an incident which occurred Aug. 11 in Jim Thorpe. She was charged by Jim Thorpe Police.

She was sentenced to two years of probation, 100 hours community service and zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol.

She also pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident which occurred Aug. 13 in Jim Thorpe. She was sentenced to 128 days to one year imprisonment, given credit for time served, and ordered to perform 50 hours community service.

Joshua Brady Willassen, 38, of Weissport, pleaded guilty to providing false identification to a law enforcement officer, in connection with a Sept. 15, 2016, incident. He was charged by Lehighton Borough Police.

He was sentenced to 45 days to 12 months imprisonment, with credit for time served.

Johnathan Burak, 35, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty in three cases. He admitted to theft by unlawful taking for stealing a dirt bike in Lansford on Aug. 17, 2017. He was charged by Lansford Police. He was sentenced to two years of probation and 100 hours community service in that case.

Burak also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance for an Aug. 17 incident and was sentenced to one year probation to be served consecutively with the first sentence, and 50 hours community service.

He also pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and marijuana possession for an incident that took place in Jim Thorpe Borough on Sept. 12. He was sentenced to three months to two years imprisonment 100 hours community service, and a $300 fine.

Norman C. Garner III, 41, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded guilty to simple assault for an incident on Sept. 28. He was arrested by Jim Thorpe Police.

He was sentenced to two years of probation, 100 hours community service, anger management classes and ordered to follow the results of a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Kaitlyn Jane Hill, 29, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of drug possession. She was charged by Lehighton Borough Police for an incident on July 2, 2016.

She was sentenced to one year probation, 50 hours community service, and ordered to follow the results of a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Audrey Alissa Litke, 27, of Nesquehoning, pleaded guilty to one count of marijuana possession. She was charged by Nesquehoning Borough Police for an incident on Aug. 2. She was sentenced to one year probation, 50 hours community service, and ordered to follow the results of a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Zachary Ian Nauman, 22, of White Haven, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass for an incident that occurred on Nov. 4. He was charged by state police at Fern Ridge.

Sentencing was deferred.

Ryan M. Rehrig, 37, of Palmerton, pleaded guilty to fleeing or attempting to elude an officer. He was charged by Palmerton Borough Police for an incident that occurred on Sept. 3.

Sentencing was deferred pending a comprehensive drug and alcohol evaluation.

Carol Lynn Scott, 53, of Lehighton, pleaded guilty to one count of driving under the influence. She was charged by Lehighton Borough Police for an incident that occurred on June 20.

Sentencing was deferred.

Each defendant who was sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation/parole.
