Carbon County court — Parole/probation hearings

Three people currently on parole or probation had their status revoked after the adult probation office filed petitions with the county court. The petitions indicated the three had violated the terms of their release.

Kaitlin Helmer, 23, of Beaver Meadows, had her parole revoked in three separate cases involving charges of receiving stolen property and forgery on petition of probation officer Joseph Bettine for violating conditions by testing positive eight times for amphetamines and admitting using nonprescribed drugs, which violated the zero-tolerance condition of her release.

Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced her to serve out her maximum term in the county prison, which runs to Oct. 9.

Justin Oppelt, 26, of Nesquehoning, had his parole revoked in three cases involving charges of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of Bettine for violating conditions by failing to report for scheduled urine screens and admitting using methamphetamine, which violated the zero-tolerance condition of his release.

Matika resentenced him to serve 60 days “street time” with the effective date of June 7.

Shane Houser, 21, of Nesquehoning, had his probation revoked on a simple assault charge for violating conditions by being charged with a new criminal offense, testing positive for illegal substances, failing to pay court costs, failing to complete drug and alcohol treatment and failing to perform 50 hours of community service.

Matika resentenced him to serve six to 12 months in the county prison, with the effective date of March 22.
