Carbon County court — Parole/probation revocation hearings

Carbon County Judge Joseph J. Matika conducted parole/probation revocation hearings recently on petitions filed by the adult probation office against defendants who violated the terms of their release.

Jessica Mongi, 30, of Summit Hill, had her parole/probation revoked in four cases on petition of probation officer Clifford Eckhart for violating conditions by not reporting to the probation office as directed, absconded from her approved residence, failed to submit to scheduled drug screens which violated the zero-tolerance condition and failing to engage in and complete drug and alcohol treatment. The four cases included charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of children, theft and false identification of law enforcement.

Matika resentenced her to serve 261 days in a state correctional institution on two of the counts and four to 12 months on the remaining cases, with the terms running consecutively. She was given credit for 80 days already served.

Daniel Hollan, 35, of Lansford, had his probation revoked in two cases including charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and criminal trespass on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed and failing to pay court costs.

Matika resentenced him to serve 12 to 36 months in a state correctional institution with credit for 238 days already served.

Ricky A. Williams, 27, of Westville, Indiana, had his probation revoked on a charge of receiving stolen property on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by not reporting to the probation office as directed, testing positive for a controlled substance and failing to submit to scheduled drug screens.

Matika resentenced him to serve six to 12 months in prison concurrent with a term he is currently serving in Indiana.

Jocelyn Tiglio, 23, of Weatherly, had her probation revoked on a charge of theft by deception on petition of probation officer Joseph Bettine for violating conditions by being arrested in Hazleton on new criminal counts, testing positive for opiates at lease twice, consuming alcohol, violating the zero-tolerance condition and failing to report to the probation office as directed.

Matika resentenced her to serve three to six months in the county prison, effective May 1 at 9 a.m. However, if she completes drug and alcohol treatment, completes 50 hours of community service and pays $270 on her court costs, plus make her regular monthly payments by that date, the order will be vacated.

Steven Holtzer, 25, of Lansford, has his parole and probation revoked in two cases on charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by testing positive for controlled substances, failing to submit to drug screens and failing to complete drug and alcohol treatment.

Matika resentenced him to serve 120 days in the county prison with credit for 50 days already served.

Alexander Modawar, 37, of Lansford, had his parole revoked on a charge of retail theft on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by admitting using controlled substances, failing to submit to scheduled drug screens, testing positive for alcohol, violating the zero tolerance condition and failing to complete drug and alcohol treatment.

Matika resentenced him to serve the balance of his maximum term which runs to June 21.

Stephanie Weirich, 41, of Lansford, had her probation revoked on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by testing positive for controlled substances and violating the zero tolerance condition.

Matika resentenced her to serve 120 days to 12 months in the county prison with credit for 57 days already served.

Robert Davis Jr., 54, of Lansford, had his probation revoked on a charge of DUI on petition of Eckhart for violating conditions by having new criminal charges filed against him and consuming alcohol.

Matika resentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison.

Mark Dacosta, 36, of Lehighton, had his parole revoked on a charge of criminal trespass on petition of Bettine for violating conditions by testing positive for marijuana and amphetamine and failing to report for a urine screen.

Matika resentenced him to serve 82 days in the county prison effective Oct. 28, 2017.

Russell Evans, 35, of White Haven, had his parole revoked on a charge of DUI on petition of Bettine for violating conditions by being arrested by Pocono Mountain Regional police on May 31, 2017.

Matika resentenced him to serve out the balance of his maximum term, which runs to Feb. 13.
