Carbon County court
A Carbon County man pleaded guilty on Thursday to two counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a controlled substance — methamphetamine.
Damian L. Eidem, 31, of Lehighton, entered the pleas before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.
Eidem was arrested on the first DUI on May 12 in the 100 block of Main Lane by Lehighton police.
The second DUI occurred on July 22 along Canal Street in Franklin Township filed by state police at Lehighton. The drug possession count stems from an incident on July 11 when Lehighton police found him asleep on a park bench near the post office. Eidem was found with methamphetamine.
Eidem was also scheduled to be sentenced on a second possession count, which he had previously pleaded to but that was deferred as was the sentencing on the other charges when Nanovic ordered a presentence investigation report be prepared by the adult probation office.
Eidem is currently an inmate in the county prison on the charges.
