Carbon County court

A Schuylkill County man was sentenced to a state prison term on Tuesday in Carbon County court after previously pleading guilty to a drug-dealing charge.

John M. Cambria Raygoza, 32, of Coaldale, was sentenced by Judge Steven R. Serfass to serve 14 to 60 months in a state correctional institution on two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substances, methamphetamine and heroin.

He was arrested on April 21, 2018, following a vehicle stop by Lansford police. Officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a search. Controlled substances were found in the vehicle.

Serfass also ordered Raygoza to get both drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations and follow any recommendations for treatment, zero tolerance for drug or alcohol use, supply a DNA sample and pay court costs of about $1,000.

He began the jail term immediately and was given credit for 36 days already served.

DUI charge

Angela P. McGlinchey, 43, of Lansford, was sentenced to serve 90 days to 60 months in prison on a driving under the influence charge to which she previously pleaded guilty.

She was arrested on March 26, 2018, by Summit Hill police. Police were dispatched to the Miners Market for a report of an unconscious woman in a vehicle. On scene officers found McGlinchey behind the wheel of a vehicle with the engine running. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

She was also ordered to pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and render 100 hours of community service.

She was given credit for five days already served and will begin the prison term at 9 a.m. on Nov. 1 and serve it on consecutive two-day weekends.
