Carbon County court
Two defendants were found in violation of the terms of their release on criminal charges and are facing jail time, but were given a chance to correct their mistakes.
The Carbon County court conducted parole/probation revocation hearings on petitions filed by the adult probation office.
Dennis Boileau, 50, of Albrightsville, was found in violation of his parole on a charge of driving under the influence. Probation officer Joseph Bettine filed a petition citing violations by Boileau of his release including not making a concerted effort to pay is court costs; failing to complete highway safe driving classes; failing to complete drug and alcohol treatment; and failing to complete community service work.
Judge Joseph J. Matika resentenced him to serve three months backtime in the county prison effective Sept. 1, at 9 a.m. However, if he completes the safe driving classes, drug and alcohol treatment and community service by that time and pays $1,500 on his court costs, along with his regular monthly payments, the order will be vacated.
Jesse Roth, 26, of Nesquehoning, had his probation revoked on a charge of simple assault on petition of the probation office for violating conditions by failing to report to the probation office as directed; failing to engage in mental health treatment; failing to complete anger management counseling; and failing to perform 50 hours of community service.
Matika resentenced him to serve three to six months in the county prison effective Sept. 1, 2018, at 9 a.m. However, if he completes the mental health treatment, anger management counseling and the 50 hours of community service by that date the order will be vacated.
ARD revoked
William Camenzind III, 30, of Nesquehoning, had his placement in the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program revoked on petition of the probation office on charges of criminal attempt and retail theft for violating conditions by failing to pay court costs and failing to perform 100 hours of community service.
Matika ordered the case be placed on the next pretrial list.
