Carbon County court - Guilty pleas
A total of 10 defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas in Carbon County court recently.
Judge Joseph J. Matika accepted the pleas from the following:
Amy Fayock, 38, of Hazleton, pleaded to three counts of criminal conspiracy-retail theft for three incidents at the Walmart store in Mahoning Township. Township police charged her for thefts on Nov. 6 and 12, 2017 and Jan. 23, 2018.
Matika placed her on probation for a total of 36 months and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, render a total of 150 hours of community service and make total restitution to Walmart for $2,368.59 and stay out of the store.
Justin Jacobacci, 36, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of access device fraud and criminal mischief in two separate cases. He was arrested by the office of the state inspector for the access device fraud involving food stamps and the mischief charge on April 7, 2017, filed by Kidder Township police.
He was placed on probation for a year on each count, running concurrently, and ordered to make total restitution of $875.57, get a drug and alcohol evaluation, render 75 hours of community service and have no contact with Holiday Pocono. The terms run concurrent with a state sentence he is serving.
Taylor Wesley Schmitt, 29, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of resisting arrest. He was arrested on Sept. 3, 2018, by Nesquehoning police.
He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.
Alexis Rae Antionenetti Soto, 23, of Blakeslee, pleaded to one count of simple assault. He was arrested on March 3, 2017, by Summit Hill police for assaulting a female in the borough.
He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to attend and successfully complete an anger management course, render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim. The term runs concurrent with another sentence he is already serving.
Jaimie Mongi, of Allentown, pleaded to one count of theft. He was charged by Nesquehoning police on Oct. 21, 2018.
He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to render 50 hours of community service.
Chalil Stephen Smalls-Stokes, 22, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of theft. He was arrested by Mahoning Township police on Feb. 4, 2016, for an incident at the Walmart store,
He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to render 25 hours of community service and stay out of Walmart.
Pedro Angel Delgado-Nieves, 32, of Hazleton, pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property. He was arrested on June 7, 2016, by state police at Hazleton.
He was sentenced to time-served (134 days) to one year in jail and ordered to render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.
Michael Anthony Fitzsimmons, 40, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of accident involving damage to attended vehicle or property (hit-and-run). He was arrested by Lansford police on April 1, 2017.
He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to render 25 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim.
Lewis Anthony Gregg Jr., 51, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of false reports to falsely incriminate another. He was arrested by Lansford police on Jan. 8, 2017.
He was ordered to pay a fine of $200.
James Robert Glaze, 32, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count each of recklessly endangering another person and driving under suspension. He was arrested on Nov. 22, 2018, by state police at Lehighton on both counts.
He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to attend and successfully complete an anger management course, render 50 hours of community service and have no contact with the victim on the first count and fined $200 on the suspension charge.
Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
