Civil actions filed

• The First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, Bethlehem, has filed a civil action against Corey and Sarah M. Sherer, 174 N. Harrity Road, Parryville, seeking judgment in the amount of $38,095.75 plus interest, attorney’s fees and costs.

The plaintiff alleged the Sherers are in default of a Home Equity Credit Agreement they signed with the credit union.

• The same plaintiff filed an action against Carlos Miguel Cabrera Gomez, Evervale, Pennsylvania, alleging it is the creditor against the defendant having defaulted on a motor vehicle installment sale contract that Gomez entered into on June 8, 2017, when he purchased a motorcycle from Blocker Enterprises, Lehighton.

Judgment in the amount of 5,930.93, plus interest, attorney’s fees and costs is sought.

Seeks ejectment from home

LSF10 Master Participation Trust, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, has filed a complaint in ejectment against Gerald F. and Karen J. Strubinger, 555 W. 10th St., Jim Thorpe.

The suit states the plaintiff took possession of the 10th Street premises at a sheriff’s sale held Sept. 14, 2018, and the defendants continue to occupy the residence.

The plaintiff is asking the court for an order of judgment for possession.

Mortgage foreclosures

• U.S. Bank N.A., Fort Mill, South Carolina, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Mervin McConney, 155 Longfellow Circle, Albrightsville, over a property at that address.

Sought is judgment in the amount of $169,219.70, plus interest, costs and attorney’s fees.

• Nationstar Mortgage LLC, Coppell, Texas, has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Joseph Carney, 328 E. Union St., Tamaqua, over a property at 229 Unionville Road, Jim Thorpe.

Sought is judgment in the amount of $107,411.02, plus interest, costs and attorney’s fees.

Decision is appealed

Leroy Wenrick, 44 Seneca Road, Albrightsville, has filed an appeal of a judgment ordered by Magisterial District Judge Eric Schrantz on Nov. 21, 2018.

The judge ruled in favor of CACH LLC, Greenville, South Carolina, in the amount of $11,960.25 concerning a debt collection (credit card default) claim.

State liens filed

Several liens were filed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania against people owing money to the Department of Revenue. They include:

Hope and Brian M. Platel, 609 Fawn Circle, Jim Thorpe, $8,942.36 owed for personal income taxes for 2012-2015; Leo and Mary Fonseca, 40 Green Valley Drive, Palmerton, $849.26 owed in 2016 personal income taxes; Elton E. Gonzalez, 317 W. Abbott St., Lansford, $2,988.90 owed in 2015 personal income taxes; and Meadow Landscaping Inc., 1458 Hudson Drive, Weatherly, $1,477.98 owed for withholding taxes for the period of April 1 to June 30, 2018.

Suspension under appeal

Angelo Frank Becker, 116 S. Third St., Lehighton, has filed an appeal of the suspension of his operator’s license privileges.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, Harrisburg, notified Becker his license was set to be suspended for one year beginning Dec. 21, because he allegedly drove a vehicle while his licenses was suspended or revoked on June 26, 2018.

Becker is able to retain his license until a final determination of the suspension is made. In his appeal, he contends the suspension is improper or unlawful because he did not receive a notice of his first suspension from the department.

Township files liens

Franklin Township, 900 Fairyland Road, Lehighton, has filed three municipal liens against property owners who it claims are delinquent in sewer bills. The defendants are: Floyd Bobst, 81 Franklin Heights, Lehighton, $1,247.75; Steve Sensinger, 285 Canal St., Lehighton, $1,775.75; and John Waschek, 277 Main Road, Lehighton, $$1,775.75.
