Carbon County Salary Board meets

The Carbon County Salary Board on Thursday created a new position, and changed the pay rates of two others.

The board established the position of a probation officer at $15 an hour, effective Dec. 7.

It also changed the pay rate for a clerk/protection from abuse database coordinator in the Prothonotary’s office from $16.05 an hour to $12.31 an hour, effective Dec. 13.

The board changed the rate for a part-time security officer in the sheriff’s office from $12.80 per hour to $11.05 an hour, effective Dec. 21.

In personnel moves, county commissioners accepted the retirement of Karen M. Knappenberger of Jim Thorpe, from her position as assistant director of the Tax Claim Bureau, effective Feb. 2.

They also approved the change of status of Michele A. Gallagher of Jim Thorpe, from automation clerk in the Prothonotary’s office to clerk/protection from abuse database coordinator, in the same office, effective Dec. 13.

Commissioners also approved the change in status of Alexander Z. Rankovich of Lehighton from part-time dispatcher trainee to part-time dispatcher in the Communications Center.

In other actions, Haley Bonner of East Stroudsburg was accepted as an intern in the Adult Probation Office from Jan. 15 through April 27, 2018.
