The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

Discover Card, New Albany, Ohio, filed two actions as follows: Cathy M. Dorward, 600 Vine St., Lehighton, seeking $7,143.16; and Roy E. Jennings, 34 Mohawk Trail, Albrightsville, seeking $1,948.94.
LVNV Funding, Greenville, South Carolina, filed against Devita Wood, 407 Patten Circle, Albrightsville, seeking $1,473.12.
Mortgage foreclosures
The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.
U.S. Bank National Association, c/o 8950 Cypress Waters Blvd., Coppell, Texas, filed against Duane and Koriena Berger, aka Koriena Eidem, 301 Prospect St., Weissport, over property at that address. Sought is $21,930.47 and continuing interest.
KeyBank, c/o 4224 Ridge Lea Road, Amherst, New York, filed against Stephen Blasko, 45 W. Ridge St., Lansford, over property at that address. Sought is $43,982.22 and continuing interest.
Fall suit
Earl J. Ott Jr., 23400 Kingstand Blvd., Katy, Texas, as the executor of the estate of Earl J. Ott Sr., deceased, filed a civil action against The Summit Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, The Summit at Blue Mountain Health System, and Blue Mountain Hospital, all of 211 N. 12th St., Lehighton; and St. Luke’s University Health Network Inc., 801 Ostrum St., Bethlehem.
The suit states that Earl Ott Sr. was admitted to the nursing home on Sept. 22, 2016, suffering from several medical conditions listed in the suit. On Oct. 2, 2016, Earl Ott Sr. suffered a fall while showering and while left unattended by staff members of the defendants, the suit charges. He suffered a displaced intertrochanteric fracture of the left femur. He was transferred to the Blue Mountain Health Systems Hospital, Gnaden Huetten Campus, where he underwent surgery. His injuries and damages were a direct and proximate result of the negligence, carelessness and deviation from standards of care, the suit alleges. Earl Ott Sr. died on Nov. 3, 2016.
Negligence is alleged against the defendants along with other allegations and sought are damages in excess of $50,000 on each of four counts.
Crash suit
Bradley Wernett, 310 Main St., Jim Thorpe, filed a civil complaint against Marta E. Cox, 323 N. Third St., Lehighton.
The suit alleges on June 19 Wernett was operating a motorcycle on Route 209 in Franklin Township when Cox attempted to cross all four lanes of Route 209 to Bank Street against the flow of traffic, causing Wernett to crash and sustain serious injuries which are detailed in the suit.
Negligence is alleged and sought are damages in excess of the “compulsory arbitration limits of Carbon County.”
