The Democratic Party of Carbon County is seeking candidates for multiple municipal vacancies on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.

Vacancies exist for Lower Towamensing Township supervisor, Mahoning Township supervisor, East Side Borough mayor and Lehighton Area School District board director.

Interested candidates can submit a résumé and cover letter indicating their qualifications and why they should be nominated for the position.

The submission packet can be submitted via email to CarbonCountyDC@gmail.com, or submitted by personal delivery to 125 E. Ludlow St., Summit Hill. The deadline for application materials is 5 p.m. on June 18.

Materials should indicate the candidate’s compliance with the requirements, including residence within the municipality or school district and Democratic Party membership since at least Jan. 1, 2019.

The submissions will be reviewed and the most qualified candidates will be contacted and invited to an in-person interview. Committee members from those municipalities will vote on a replacement in accordance to Democratic Party of Carbon County bylaws.

Please do us all a favor and fill the vacancies with a Republican. We can't afford the Democratic mentality anymore.
