Carbon inmate brings drugs into prison
A Carbon County prison inmate is in more hot water after she brought drugs into the facility.
Jennifer Gongora, 32, of Kunkletown, faces charges of possession of controlled substances, contraband and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Nov. 25, Nesquehoning police officer Robert Blisard was contacted by the prison staff and told that Gongora, who was serving a weekend sentence on other charges, had brought drugs into the facility.
Prison staff had found a needle cap and wax paper bag used for packaging heroin in Gongora’s cell. A strip search found an additional two needles in her bra.
Gongora admitted she brought the needles into the prison and they had been preloaded with heroin so she could inject herself so that she would not get sick from withdrawal while she was serving her sentence over the weekend.
