Carbon inmate brought drugs into prison

A Carbon County inmate faces additional charges after he brought drugs into the county prison.

On June 22, Nesquehoning police were called to the prison after drugs were found on Prince Vereen, 28.

The guards told police that a strip search of Vereen was conducted and a bundle of 12 baggies was found in a body cavity. The baggies contained heroin.

Vereen was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
