Carbon man charged with carrying gun on school property

A Nesquehoning man is being charged with having a gun on school property in Northampton.

Lehigh Township Police have charged Andrew Krause, 30, with possession of a firearm on school grounds, which is a violation of the crimes code.

Police Chief Scott Fogel said Krause was open carrying a .45 caliber handgun on the grounds at 9 a.m. Sept. 20 of Lehigh Elementary School in Lehigh Township in Northampton School District.

“At no time were any children in danger and the school was not put on lock down,” Fogel said.
