Carbon man facing charges

A Carbon County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred in March in Beaver Meadows.

State police at Hazleton said Allan Bruce Quarles, 29, of Jim Thorpe, is facing charges of simple assault and criminal mischief.

According to troopers, at 3 a.m. March 25 in the first block of Tamaqua Street, he was involved in an altercation with a 26-year-old woman. The altercation turned physical when Quarles struck the woman four times on the right side of her face with a closed left fist, causing injury.

He also threw glass picture frames at her causing cuts to her head and arms.

During the altercation, Quarles also intentionally damaged property belonging to the woman valued at $791.
