A Carbon County man was sentenced to a county prison term on Thursday afternoon on two counts of criminal trespass, which he previously pleaded, and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Trevor Wentz, 35, of Weissport, was sentenced by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to serve a total of three to 12 months in prison on the three counts.

He was arrested on July 21, 2018, by Lehighton police for the illegal entry to a home along North Second Street. He was arrested on Nov. 29, 2018, by Weissport police for illegal entry to a home along Prospect Street. In that incident police noted heroin was found, which led to the drug charge.

Wentz admitted to a drug addiction problem and said he wants to enter an inpatient program to address it. Nanovic said his sentence would provide for that request.

In addition to the jail term, Nanovic ordered that Wentz’s parole is conditioned on him entering and successfully completing an inpatient rehabilitation program. He was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation, pay court cost of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and supply an DNA sample.

Wentz, who is an inmate in the county prison on the charges, was given credit for 22 days already served.
