Carbon man pleads to corruption, indecent assault charges

Published October 27. 2019 09:18AM

A Carbon County man pleaded guilty on Friday in the county court to charges of corruption of a minor and indecent assault of a person less than 16, both misdemeanors.

Christopher Gruver, 39, of Lansford, appeared before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to enter his plea.

He was charged by Lansford police for an incident on Aug. 1, 2018. A then 15-year-old girl told police that Gruver had fondled her in a residence along East Patterson Street and touched her inappropriately.

Police also claimed that Gruver provided the female with alcohol.

Nanovic accepted the pleas but deferred sentencing as the charges fall under the provisions of Megan’s Law. Gruver will have to submit to an evaluation by the state sexual offenders assessment board to determine if he is a violent sexual predator.
