CCEEC is looking for more volunteers
The Carbon County Environmental Education Center will hold a volunteer fair at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Anyone wanting to know more about what the center does, and how volunteers can help further its mission, is invited to attend.
“We have needs across the board,” says chief naturalist Susan Gallagher.
“Everything from data entry and fundraising, to trail work and animal care. There’s a job here for everyone.”
The center presents hundreds of education programs for schools and the public each year, and is also a licensed wildlife rehabilitation facility.
It has been in operation since 1985, and is located at the west end of Mauch Chunk Lake Park, just outside Jim Thorpe.
