Students at Carbon Career and Technical Institute are often recognized for their competitive spirit, especially when it comes to competing in the SkillsUSA competition. One part of that competition is the American Spirit Competition. Three students are working hard to prepare for this competition, which consists of three separate categories: community service, patriotism and citizenship, and promotion of career and technical education.

Students Lucy Taylor, Karissa Nenscel and Destiny Green recently organized and presented a CCTI Career Academy SHINE Family Involvement Night. These students offered the students and their families a PowerPoint presentation promoting career and technical education, as well as an information brochure about CCTI.

Attendees then had the opportunity for questions and answers. This activity fulfills the promotion of career and technical education requirement for the American Spirit Competition.

The three students are organizing a “Jump-for-Vets” activity on Feb. 14 to fulfill the patriotism and citizenship requirement. All money raised in this event will be donated to the Valor Clinic in Jonas.

To meet the community service requirement, Taylor, Nenscel and Green will assist with the upcoming CCTI blood drive scheduled for March 20.

Gov. Tom Wolf! CCTI's Saviour! Thanks for saving education from the Retarded Republican onslaught. Tom Corbett tried to keep our kids stupid but he only got the Republican kids!
Hi DO! At it again I see. Keep it up! You are a hater that needs an intervention. Republicans own you and your little twisted mind. Republicans live “rent free” in your head. You should be ashamed of yourself. Instead you seem to be proud of what you post. Boy, would I like to see the results of your “profile” (IQ, psych). Total dysfunction on full display. Republicans love you...always DO. Make your family proud of you. MAGA!
