Center encourages a closer look at feathers
The Carbon County Environmental Education Center is offering an evening workshop for those interested in taking a closer look at bird feathers at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Chief naturalist Susan Gallagher will present a short lecture on feather form and function. Participants will be offered the hands-on opportunity to examine feathers and other uniquely avian structures on frozen culinary game birds.
Artists, sculptors, budding biologists and the simply curious are invited to attend. Participants may take home their own game-bird feather collection that evening.
The program is offered free to CCEEC members, and a nominal donation is requested of nonmembers. Young adults are welcome.
