Chestnuthill awards contracts for road materials
Chestnuthill supervisors voted Tuesday night to approve a number of contracts for road materials. Eureka Stone Quarry Inc. was the lowest bidder on seven types and sizes of stone. Hanson Aggregates LLC was lowest on two types.
Shiffer Bituminous Services was lowest bidder on the E-3 emulsion oil. The cold patch contract was awarded to Hei-Way LLC at $119 per ton delivered.
Seal coating was awarded to Pocono Spray Patching Inc. at $2.84 per square yard. The total contract will be $145,402.32, which is slightly higher than the budgeted amount of $138,000, but well within the Liquid Fuels allowance for the township according to township Manager Dave Albright.
A partial payment was approved for Northeast Site Contractors in the amount of $64,974.80 for the work completed to date on the Lake Mineola Road project.
The township also approved to contract with Don VanFleet Appraisers to have all six of the properties owned by the West End Fire Company appraised in the amount of $4,750.
