Chestnuthill looks at lowering speed limit on Bond Land

Published January 28. 2020 12:42PM

The Chestnuthill Township Board of Supervisors are seeking authorization to reduce the speed limit on Bond Lane.

“While we do not see an unusually high amount of accidents on this road, we have observed a tendency for drivers to speed in the residential area of Bond Lane. The speed limit reduction would prevent potential accidents from occurring in the future,” Chestnuthill Township Manager David Albright said.

Additionally, the Chestnuthill Township supervisors continued planning on implementing a contract for SmartGov, a web-based software application. Certain tasks such as permitting, inspections, code enforcement and paying fees could be done online instead of in person. The goal of this software would be to eliminate the administrative burden that comes with these functions.
