Christopher named LCCC Cougar Athlete of the Week
Northwestern graduate Sage Christopher recently was named the Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougar Athlete of the Week.
The freshman averaged 29.0 points and 24.0 rebounds per game in two contests to lead the women’s basketball team to a 2-0 week. She set a program record with 27 rebounds against Montgomery County Community College.
In a 67-48 win over Luzerne County Community College, Christopher posted a double-double with 24 points and 21 rebounds while also adding three steals and three assists. Jim Thorpe graduate and fellow freshman Devon Lignore also had a double-double in the win, putting up 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Against MCCC, Christopher dropped a season-high 34 points and recorded 27 rebounds. Lignore also was in double figures, scoring 14 points to lead LCCC to its second win of the season.
Christopher also recorded a double-double in an 80-38 loss to the Community College of Philadelphia in the season-opener, finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
