Coaldale man charged with DUI
A Coaldale man taken into custody on April 27 for an outstanding warrant faces additional charges after Coaldale police received results of blood tests.
Aaron L. Macker, 35, of West Phillips Street, was picked up on the warrant by a state constable with an assist from borough police.
Macker wasn’t home when law enforcement initially arrived, but drove up a short time later in a Subaru. He was reminded that his driver’s license was suspended. A clear plastic bag containing a crystallike substance (methamphetamine) was in plain view in the car and the defendant admitted taking Vicodin and Adderall before driving. He was taken to the hospital for blood tests.
Blood tests were positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Macker was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled drug, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.
