Carbon County officials urge residents to get out and support area veterans during the annual Veterans Day parade today.

Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein said that he is hoping people come out to watch the parade, held this year in Lansford.

The five division parade kicks off from the Panther Valley Football Stadium at 1:30 p.m. and moves eat down Bertsch Street, turning north onto Chestnut Street, west onto East Patterson Street, north on to Springgarden Street, and then west onto Ridge Street.

“Please take the time out of your busy schedules,” Nothstein said. “These are people who sacrificed years and years of service to their country and sacrificed away from home and family for years at a time.”
