Committee hangs 40-foot banner to support Tamaqua Raiders
Justin Startzel of the Tamaqua Spirit Committee hangs a 40-foot banner at the Five Points intersection Tuesday night in support of the Tamaqua Blue Raiders football team as the group prepares to travel to Kingston on Friday to face a team from Wyoming Area in the PIAA Class AAA Eastern state semifinal. After hanging the banner, Startzel joined with Michelle Mehallic, Michele Weaver, Kathy Nunemacher and Tara Chernov Hamm to hang streamers on sign posts and utility poles, a complement to the blue and white flags already lining Broad Street.
