Community Care Visits Program launches

Published November 20. 2018 12:41PM

Northern Valley Emergency Medical Services Inc. recently launched of a new program called the Community Care Visits Program.

The mission is to improve community awareness of its individual health care needs.

The Community Care Visits Program will provide support to residents who live alone or have limited assistance in the effort to maintain their independence.

During a Community Care Visit, NOVA’s paramedics and emergency medical technicians will assess wellness and nutrition, bring attention to medical concerns, reconcile medication and make recommendations for safety. Through education, closer monitoring and improved communication between patients and their primary care physicians, this service will work to prevent many emergencies before they happen.

This program is low cost, it is the first of its kind in the Lehigh Valley and NOVA is excited to offer this service to its subscribers. Details about the program will be outlined in the 2019 subscription brochure. Mailing began Nov. 8.

NOVA is the primary 911 emergency medical services provider for Heidelberg, North Whitehall, Washington and portions of Lowhill townships; and Slatington and Walnutport boroughs.

In addition, NOVA continues to offer CPR and first aid training, free car seat safety checks and stands by at community special events.
