Concert to benefit poverty program
Joel Raney and Jane Holstein will be the featured artists for the fifth annual Project One Step benefit concert at 3 p.m. Nov. 5 at Stroudsburg Area High School. The two combine their huge keyboard talents in magnificent piano/organ duets.
Raney is also a composer of sacred choral music. His work will be performed by a combined choir representing Monroe County and the Pocono Community Orchestra.
This event is designed to raise money, in partnership with Pocono Alliance, to meet real needs in the community. It will support Bridges out of Poverty, a program that educates and motivates families to become self-sufficient and “Fill a Glass with Hope,” a project created by the Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association and Feeding Pennsylvania to provide low-cost fresh milk to local food pantries for distribution to their clients.
Visit www.projectonestep.org for ticket information. Each ticket ordered in advance will come with a free raffle entry to win a new Martin guitar valued at $2,049. The winning ticket will be drawn at the concert.
