Cost, location for new Public Works pole building debated

Published February 13. 2020 01:48PM

Lehighton continues to mull the cost and location for a new pole building for its Public Works Department.

Borough council on Monday heard an update on the Public Works storage building project from borough manager Nicole Beckett.

Beckett told council the borough is only in the preliminary planning stages, and will discuss financing in the future.

Beckett said options include a possible addition to the existing building on East Penn Street, or a lot the borough owns at Bridge Street/Millway.

She told council her recommendation was to proceed with a site feasibility study in conjunction with Keystone Consulting Engineers.

How about the town of Lehighton put our tax dollars towards repairing the decrepit, neglected roads before putting up another unnecessary pole building to hide in!
