Crash on I-81 at Mahanoy exit

Heavy snow squalls along the northern rim are causing hazardous driving conditions. Along I-81 in the south bound lanes at the Mahanoy City exit a tractor trailer operator lost control of his rig on a snow-covered roadway.
The rig slid across the south bound entrance ramp to the interstate and down an embankment.
State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
In Monroe County, Interstate 380 North is closed from mile marker 9 to mile marker 13 due to multiple crashes and deteriorating weather conditions.
Route 33 in Monroe County is also reported to be slippery.
Be aware of branches blowing into roads.
