Crashes probed on 1-81 in Schuylkill

State police at Frackville reported investigating two crashes along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County on Saturday.

The first crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. as Walter H. Wallace, 36, of Ashland, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado pickup northbound in Kline Township when the vehicle left the road and struck the guide rail along the west berm. Wallace was not injured but the truck had to be towed.

He was cited for the crash.

The second crash occurred at 8:22 a.m. in Mahanoy Township. Troopers said Nicki D. Parisi, 57, of Norwalk, Connecticut, was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla southbound when the car left the road and traveled onto the east berm where it struck a traffic sign and a culvert. Parisi and her passenger, Tami Manfredi-Smith, 57, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, were not injured. The car had to be towed.

Parisi was cited for the crash.
