Volunteers from several fire companies were on scene of a rescue at Glen Onoko Falls Sunday afternoon. More than 25 people were on scene for three hours to rescue a 21-year-old woman from the first set of falls. One scene were fire companies from Jim Thorpe, Lehigh & Lausanne, Nesquehoning, Franklin Township and Lehighton ambulance.

The trail was closed on May 1 because of poor conditions. According to reports on the scene, the trail is totally washed out, making the rescue is dangerous.

A representative of  the Pennsylvania Game Commission issued a fine to the woman and other members of her party.

See? Just like if you ban guns, there won't be any more shootings, if you close a trail, there won't be any more rescues. Because people always follow the law.

You shouldn't need to rescue someone breaking the law. That's like if I get into someone's backyard despite "private property" signs, and they hold me at gunpoint, I should be able to call the police on the property owner for being held hostage.

If you want to risk your life on a dangerous trail, then do it. Don't make it emergency responders problem if you get yourself in trouble. By the way, about overdosing...
So Mike Meyers opposes saving someone's life if they make a mistake? Doesn't sound pro-life to me, certainly doesn't sound Christian. Imagine if God had the attitude you are espousing here.
See! Ignorant trumpites have no respect for the rule of law. The stupid MAGAhag should have been left for the coyotes to gnaw upon. She thought she was smarter than everyone else. Like every trumptard, she was wrong.
DO, once again a heartless, ignorant, vulgar post from you. When you blame everything on politics you display a narrow-mindedness along with advanced mental illness. You have been thrown off of this site before. It is time for you to be expelled from here again. You have lauded tragedies before. You are a hateful left-wing nut job that is afraid of Republicans. Republicans are your master. Republicans own you. Clean up your dirty act. America is Great!
They're still flocking to the falls despite signage. Probably only a $50 fine. Volunteer responders should also be allowed to charge a fee.
I know they're volunteers and all that, but do they really need 25 people sitting around on coolers, leaning on trucks to rescue one woman? Why risk more lives than necessary to save one dumbazz that ignored the no trespassing signs?
My husband is a volunteer...they don't know how long any rescue will take. They always have extra people in case it runs long and the others need a break. You also need some people stationed at the main area for when the person is rescued and might need aid or if even if a volunteer needs aid etc.
Keep in mind that you have 4 or 5 fire organizations responding with several million dollars worth of assets. You need more than a few responders to guard the assets and keep order in the designated command center.

Realize that the same mentality that is being rescued is also arriving by auto in droves to take their turn trespassing. Imagine you just spent 3 or 4 hours lugging someone down from the falls only to be blocked from handing off the patient to EMS or moving your fire truck to go home because curious visitors from out of the area have decided that having a convenient place to park their car is more important than the rescue.
