October 31, 2000 — Ashley Frey scores a pair of goals to help Lehighton roll to a 4-0 victory over Northwestern in the semifinal round of the District 11 Class 2A playoffs. Frey opens the scoring in the first half, as the Indians tally three times before the intermission. Sam Nonweiler finds the back of the cage three minutes after Frey’s goal, while Jamie Kistner blasts home a shot right before the break to give her team an insurmountable lead. The Indians, coached by Sharon Elder, add a final tally in the second half when Frey scores off a feed from Katie Grant.
