April 20, 1961 — A bases-loaded walk to David Bryfogle in the bottom of the sixth inning chases in the go-ahead and eventual winning run as Jim Thorpe edges Weatherly, 4-3, in a Mountain League game. The Olympians, coached by Kenny Kline, tally three times in the sixth to turn a two-run deficit into a lead. A squeeze bunt by Ned Reabold chases home Stroud Hiller with the first run of the frame while an error accounts for the tying run to cross. Jimmy Brogan scores twice for Thorpe, who receives a three-hitter from winning pitcher Paul Hydro.
