April 26, 1973 — Jan Krawchuk and Gene Behler both win two events to lead Palmerton to a 65-53 Lehigh Valley League track and field victory over rival Slatington. Krawchuk registers a time of 10.8 to capture the 100-yard dash and claims the long jump with a distance of 19-9 1/4. Behler breaks the tape first in the 440 with a time of 55.8, and is clocked in 2:11.6 to take the 880. The Blue Bombers, coached by Art George, also receive firsts from Clay Dewalt (mile), Mike Dakan (discus), Jim Hay (high jump) and Jack Zmarzley (pole vault).
