August 4, 1954 — Gerry Rothermel collects three hits and score a run to help Lehighton gain a 7-3 Tri-County Legion victory over Hazleton. Darryl Neeb earns the pitching win, allowing six hits and four walks while striking out seven in his nine innings of work. Dick Koons and Charlie Koons both finish with a pair of hits and a run scored for the winners, who use a four-run third inning to open the scoring. Lehighton, coached by Leon “Moose” Kunkle, also receive a hit and run from Roger Ulshafer and Dick Koch.
