February 17, 1956 — Freddie West turns in a 28-point performance to help Coaldale pull away from Lansford for a 71-55 Black Diamond League victory. West does most of his damage in the opening half, as the Tigers build an eight-point lead. The winners, coached by Andy Kalen, also receive 20 points from Lou Gregus, while Bobby Parfitt chips in with seven. For the Panthers, Marty “Cy” Domines tallies a team-high 26 points.
