June 1, 1964 — John Mikulsky opens the Lansford Teener League season in impressive fashion as he throws a five-hit shutout to lead the Wrens to a 5-0 victory over the Owls. In his seven innings of work, Mikulsky doesn’t walk a batter and strikes out 10. Bob Polinsky collects two hits and scores a run for the winners, who tally all five of their runs in the first inning. Mike Zweisdak and Mike Marcin each add a hit, while Milkulsky, Steve Doboski, Bill Reese, and Fred Mihalic all score runs.
