March 23, 2001 — Deb Adams turns in a sparking effort from the circle and scores the go-ahead run in the eighth inning to help lift Tamaqua to a 3-1 softball victory over Lehighton. After allowing a first-inning run, Adams tosses seven shutout innings and finishes with 10 strikeouts. Adams singles to start the Raiders rally in the eighth, moves to second on a fielder’s choice and scores on a hit by Becky Boyer. The winners, coached by Terry “Nails” Knoblauch, also receive an insurance run on an RBI single from Leann Woodring.
