March 28, 1974 — Four members of the Lehigh Valley League make their intentions to withdraw official at the league’s annual meeting. Lehighton, Palmerton, Slatington and Stroudsburg all plan to withdraw effective July 1, 1975. Each school announces they plan to become members of a new league — the Centennial League. The departure of the four schools leaves only four other schools - Catasauqua, Emmaus, Northampton and Whitehall - in the LVL. After 1975, the league disbands with Catty joining the Colonial League and the others moving to the East Penn League.
