March 30, 1951 — The Lehighton Rockets pull away from the East Siders of East Mauch Chunk to capture championship honors of the Chunk YMCA Inetrmediate Tournament. Jerry Kernis and Dick Arner both pour in 11 points to lead the Lehighton squad (made up of sophomores, juniors and seniors) to a 42-23 victory. The winners also receive seven points from R. Arner. For the East Siders, Hodor tallies a team-high eight points.
