Tamaqua’s John Uzick captures the discus with a distance of 127-9 1/2 while fellow Blue Raider Jack Burcin clears 5-7 3/8 to tie for the title in the high jump. Palmerton’s Carl Kelchner claims the 880, breaking the tape in a time of 2:07.4. Connie Lentz also turns in a first-place finish, winning the broad jump with a distance of 19-3 3/4. Doug Shiner of Palmerton claims runner-up spots in both the 200 and 400, while Kelchner adds a second in the mile.
