May 31, 2001 — Max Fada fires a two-hit shutout as Marian posts a 7-0 victory over Minersville in the District 11 Class A championship game. Fada strikes out nine batters and also helps his own cause, collecting two hits at the plate. The Colts, coached by Jeff Nietz, tally four runs in the first inning to take control of the game early. Eric Wertman delivers an RBI double during the first, while Albert Donadi and Fada both add run-scoring singles. Wertman adds another RBI hit in the second to extend the lead. The district champs also receive a hit and two RBIs from Tom Teprovich.
