May 7, 1976 — Jim Albert’s two-run single in the top of the seventh inning breaks a tie and gives Jim Thorpe an eventual 13-11 Hughie McGeehan win over Weatherly. Albert finishes the contest with three hits, one a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. Bill Rieck contributes two doubles, two runs and knocks in three, while Vince Bocina adds two hits and scores three times. The Olympians, who rally twice from deficits, also receive two hits from Jim McElhenney and a triple and three RBIs from Jan Kneas.
