May 8, 1985 — George Schmidt blasts two homers and drives in seven runs to power Palmerton to an 11-5 Centennial League win over Lehighton. Schmidt drills a three-run blast in the first inning to get the Blue Bombers off to a fast start. He adds a two-run shot in the third frame, and also collects a two-run double in the contest. Steve Susel contributes three hits, two of them doubles, and scores two runs, while Jim Christman also finishes with three hits. Todd Silfies goes the distance on the mound to earn the victory.
